Staff’s qualifications and experience
All the staffs at Star Child Explore Learning are experienced with the relevant required teaching qualifications. Their qualification ranges from Degree in teaching and Early Years Qualifications in Childcare and Education. All the Teachers are well experienced and ranges from 5 years to 20 years. They are all committed and dedicating to individual development plan and undertake relevant courses for self developments. They carry out yearly mandatory in house training on Safeguarding, Paediatrics and Resuscitation, Infection control, Health and Safety at work, Fire drill, Supervision and Appraisal, Equality of Opportunities, Special Educational Needs Recognition and Management, Risk Assessment and Observation and Assessment using the Early Years Foundation Stages Framework for the under 8s.
Staffs are supported in accessing long and short term Distant Learning training. They have regular supervision/appraisals to identify their training needs and they are also offered support and advice in other areas.
Staff Responsibilities and roles:
Our staffs acts as mentors and will accept the children in their entire self with their inconsistent behaviour, set limits and boundaries calmly and respectfully but firm when necessary. Praises are offered to enable change the children’s NO to freely saying YES whilst still developing the power to control emotions and feelings.
Our Staffs will:
• Plan activities that allow the children to choices and self-directed play.
• Engages the children in small groups of 5 at the maximum in each area of play activities.
• Provides a teaching resource/plan that prepares the child for future academic excellence using the balanced curriculum that is easy, interesting, full of fun and educational.
• The participation of all the children in circle-times.
• Reflecting and evaluating the progress/experiences the children make in the Play Centre whilst ensuring healthy development and well being at all times.
• Uses Key Workers in each classroom to plan the curriculum around a center of interest or theme which provides the development for the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
• Encourage the child to explore.
• Recognise the moments when the child is ready to learn.
• Provide appropriate challenges and activities that incorporate local resources.
• Document the child’s experiences, whilst communicating to parents regularly on a daily basis.
• Set individual goals and plan with parents.
• Recognise the uniqueness and strength of each child, and use these strengths to help the child reach their full potentials.
• Achieve and meet the high standards expected of them at all times.
• Ensure they are committed to helping and promoting self esteem, independence, self value, physical development and valuing others.
• Help the children to gather information; solve problems; use book, computers, art and craft tools and scientific instruments; and use objects to count.
